Sparkle Vlog 4: Sarah Diemer Gives a Tour of Their Writing Room

It also includes UNICORNS.

(The fourth in my Sparkle Vlog series, where I—YA author Sarah Diemer—talk about inspiration, writing, and gay, queer and lesbian YA!)

Beyond the Strange Purple Door! I give a tour of my and my wife, author Jennifer Diemer‘s, writing room. I also talk about writing routines and show off our demon, Kit! NOT TO BE MISSED IF YOU LIKE PURPLE AND CATS.

As noted in the video, this is a photo of the painting that my sister, artist Laura Diemer did for my novel (then called Hymns for Her that would eventually become The Dark Wife). The poem on the painting is one of my favorites, “Prayer to Persephone” by Edna St. Vincent Millay.

(If you’d like to see me talk about something in an upcoming Vlog, let me know on my Facebook page or in the comments here! ♥)

  1. Hope you don’t mind me saying, but your excitement is so cute! I’m envious of your writing room. It would be so cool to have inspiration all over the walls in front of me. I also liked the bit about your writing process. Learning/hearing how others write is always fascinating to me.

Yay! My Little Pony! And Pinkie Pie! And Nike and Sappho! And Buffalo!! No more 60 degree weather here in Buffalo 😦

  3. Sara says:

Also, just in general, I love and miss you and your sparkly excitement. You’re just so adorable. I hope I get to see you soon. ❤

Your typewriter is awesome. I would love to have one someday.

    UNICORN! Absolutely adorable.

The painting your sister did is just beautiful! I absolutely love it.

Jenn doesn't drink coffee? At all? I did not know this. LOL

    Anyway, love you both. <333
